Dislog Group Adds Sundy Snack Icon to Its Portfolio in Bold European Expansion

Morocco’s Dislog Group has purchased the iconic Sundy snack brand, previously owned by Nestlé, representing a significant step in its cross-border expansion. This acquisition strengthens Dislog’s presence in the snacking markets of France and Morocco, emphasising innovation rooted in the brand’s heritage. It reflects Africa’s growing ambition to enhance consumer goods through regional manufacturing and European distribution networks.

The acquisition of Sundy, known for its cereal and chocolate bars, adds a beloved French snack to Dislog’s growing European footprint. Nestlé’s exit opens a path for Dislog to blend its Moroccan distribution strengths with European brand recognition. Sundy now joins Dislog’s France-based brands, distributed by Taste Distribution, Chef Sam, and Food Pickers.

In March 2025, Dislog acquired Venezia Ice & Bakery, along with the MCDF manufacturing plant, enhancing its local production capabilities in frozen and baked goods. Before that, in late 2024, it obtained a majority stake in Fromagerie de l’Atlas, marking its entry into the dairy sector. These initiatives highlight Dislog’s ambition to expand across various food categories and regions.

Through its brands, Dislog currently serves approximately 72,000 retail outlets in Morocco and has formed partnerships with global companies such as P&G, Mars, and Kellogg’s. The acquisition of Sundy enhances this reach by integrating European distribution channels, creating a more robust export platform that balances trade between Morocco and France.

Dislog’s strategy is straightforward: honour and maintain Sundy’s identity while updating its products and marketing. By integrating Sundy into its specialised distribution divisions, the group intends to revitalise the brand with innovative offerings, balancing nostalgia with fresh growth opportunities. This shows how African companies can move from local champions to continent-level players anchored in European markets.
